To be eligible for the 2019 Awards, the young artist must have been between the ages of five (5) and eighteen (18) when their project was in production. Artists older than 18 are eligible to submit for the 2019 Awards, if they meet this age requirement at the time of production,
The work must have been nationally aired, streamed, televised, released theatrically, or played in a film festival between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018.
For optimal results use a 16:9 (HiDef widescreen) aspect ratio and size your videos to 640×360 pixels when exporting or saving the edited video from within your editing software.
At the start of your video, make sure you have a graphic card (5 seconds) that includes your head-shot, name, nomination category, your age at the time of production and project title.

Submission videos can be any length up to 3 minutes maximum.
If a short-film is 10 minutes or less, it may be submitted in its entirety. If it is longer than 10 minutes, it is suggested that the scenes showing the best performances be edited into a submission video that is no longer than 3 minutes.
For Writer, Producer, and Director submissions, an edited video may be up to 10 minutes maximum in length. A film's trailer, if there is one, is also acceptable.
Acceptable Video File Types
MP4 (MPEG-4), MOV, AVI, WMV.
Video File Title
Make sure the title of the video file starts with the young artist's last name, followed by a hyphen (–) and the project name (or an abbreviation) and lastly the extension ( .mp4 )
example: Last Name–Project Name.mp4 (note: there are no spaces on either side of the hyphen.)
The Last Name is very important, as our database searches for submission videos by Last Name.
A YouTube link to the submission video can be provided on the online Submission Form or via
e-mail to: Submissions@YoungArtistAcademy.org
The video can be set to unlisted but must have the 'share' ability to be embedded. Also, upon request, a link to the Academy's secure video server can be provided as an alternative video upload method.
If you are unable to make an edited video, please email the Video Manager, who will be able to assist you.
Please upload a headshot and a lifestyle photo with the Submission Form. This is optional for subsequent submissions.
Please upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, AIFF, etc.) of the young artist's full name being pronounced. This will be the name used in all YAA publicity, social media, and on the Category Videos during the live gala event
